Also called “Viking Chess”, the game of Kubb originated on the island of Gotland in Sweden. It is quickly gaining popularity in the United States because of its wonderful mix of throwing skill, strategy, and luck. It has been compared to “Horseshoes, Bocce, and Cornhole all rolled into one great game”. Kubb is easy to learn to play and can be played with 2-12 players to accommodate large or small groups. Our Kubb Games are made in Holmes County, Ohio by our Amish friends. Each Kubb Game Set is made out of timber harvested in the Appalachians. The throwing batons are made of Poplar hardwood and the kubbs and king are made out of Southern Yellow Pine (the heaviest and strongest pine available). Our Kubb Games are Official Size according to the U.S. National Kubb Championship Rules. The King is 10″ x 3 1/4″, the Kubbs are 5 15/16″ x 2 3/4″, and the Batons are 11 7/8″ long x 1 3/4″ diameter. The Kubb Set includes 1 King, 10 Kubbs, 6 Throwing Batons, and 4 Boundary Stakes. Each of the kubbs and throwing batons feature beveled edges to resist chipping and cracking. Finally, it comes in a lovely burlap zippered carry bag for ease of storage and transporting.
